My role was as Senior Graphic Designer for an Australian Aid funded project, Roads for Development, where I was based in Port Vila, Vanuatu. I was contracted through SMEC, for the Roads for Development Project for the Dept. Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). My role was to develop and design awareness collateral for rural communities involved with the project on Social and Environmental Safeguards. The key challenges with this project was to create material that was culturally appropriate, addressed low literacy in rural areas and translation of key material into the local language, Bislama. All material was well received by both the Vanuatu and Australian government organisations
